Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, awarded prizes for top performance in quality, logistics and technology to ten of its suppliers at its suppliers' conference on April 12, 2005. In the Service category, Schenker Deutschland AG received a "Porsche Supplier Award 2004". The logistics service provider manages new vehicle transportation for the Carrera GT and the exhibition and event logistics.
In the customer center of Porsche Leipzig GmbH, the Porsche Board Members Holier P. Härter (Finance and Business Administration) and Michael Macht (Production and Logistics) awarded the sought-after trophy to Hans-Jörg Hager, the Chairman of Schenker Deutschland AG.
Porsche's logistics partner for 20 years
Dr.-Ing. Wendelin Wiedeking, the Chairman of Porsche AG, stressed the great cooperation between Porsche and its suppliers: "Our relationship is characterized by great closeness, short routes and a fast link. We work together fairly, innovatively and in a goal-orientated manner." At the same time Wiedeking explained that it was above all the suppliers who had contributed so decisively to the success in improving the production processes of the new 911 and Boxster generations of sports cars last year. "The Porsche Supplier Award is a great honor and award for Schenker Deutschland AG", explained Hans-Jörg Hager when the prize was awarded. "We are pleased," said the Chairman, "that the services of our company and our staff have been acknowledged in this way. DB Schenker and in particular our business locations in Stuttgart in the sector of overland transportation, air and sea freight, logistics and exhibitions, has been Porsche's logistics partner for over 20 years."

DB Schenker logistics services for Porsche
- Delivery of about 300 Carrera GTs per year from the Porsche factory in Leipzig to the new owners by land, air or sea. About 45 percent of this transportation is to the USA.
- Carrera GT deliveries to tourists: foreign Porsche customers use their holidays to collect their new cars direct from the Leipzig factory and then to explore Germany or Europe in their new Porsches. Before traveling home they hand over the vehicle at an agreed location and then DB Schenker handles the secure dispatch to the owner.
- Exhibition and event logistics: the Stuttgart Exhibitions business location offers Porsche the entire range of logistics services for successful international exhibition participation.
